IPL Photofacials at Advanced Skin Wisdom

Have radiant, younger looking skin with a safe, effective IPL Photofacial skin rejuvenation treatment. Photo skin rejuvenation is ideal for patients with pigmentation and redness issues.

A IPL Photofacial is a noninvasive light treatment requiring little to no downtime that produces luminous, younger looking skin.

IPL Photofacials, also known as Photo Rejuvenation, delivers Intense Pulsed Broadband Light (IPL or BBL) energy through the skin’s surface to treat age spots, sun-induced freckles, symptoms of rosacea, unsightly veins, acne scarring and other blemishes.

BBL treats the damaged superficial layer of the skin, while delivering thermal energy to deeper tissue. Clinical studies have shown a significant positive effect BBL energy has on collagen production, which helps firm and tighten the skin. During this process, collagen production is stimulated, rejuvenating the skin, shrinking pores, and filling in fine lines and indentations. The result is healthier, younger looking skin.

This treatment is ideal for patients with active lifestyles because the procedure requires little to no downtime and has a low risk of side effects.

Ideal For:

Frequently Asked Questions about IPL Photofacial treatments at Advanced Skin Wisdom

What is a Photofacial?

A Photofacial is a noninvasive treatment that eliminates pigmentation issues such as age spots, sun spots and broken capillaries, leaving you with a clearer, more even complexion.

Where can a Photofacial treatment be used?

The most common areas are the face, neck and décolleté; however, it can be used anywhere on the body.

What should I expect with BBL treatments?

Before each treatment, a cool gel is applied to the skin.  Broad band light is delivered to this skin through this gel in precise pulses with minimal amount of discomfort. After the treatment, there may be some transient mild redness that will last 1-2 hours.

How long does the treatment take?

A full face treatment can be completed in 15-20 minutes, although time varies depending upon the area being treated.

How soon will I see results?

Results can be seen after just one treatment, although a series of four to six treatments at four week intervals is typical in order to achieve optimal results.

Are there any potential side effects?

Side effects may include slight redness, which subsides within 1-2 hours.  Pigmentary change of the skin, blisters and hot spots are rare but occasionally occur.

Who shouldn’t receive a Photofacial?

Patients should not have a Photofacial treatment  if they have been recently tanning, if they are skin types IV through VI or if they have a photosensitivity disorder.

How much does a Photofacial cost in New Jersey?

The cost of a Photofacial varies in cost depending upon the body part being treated.  Please contact us for a more specific cost.
