SkinTyteTM Laser Skin Tightening at Summit Medical Group

Achieve Firmer, More Youthful Looking Skin

Collagen is one of the critical structures in the skin that provides strength and firmness. As the skin ages and accumulates sun damage, collagen fibers become stretched and lose some of their strength, resulting in the sagging skin and 'turkey neck' many of us are all too familiar with.

New advances in light energy have taken non-invasive treatment of skin laxity for toning and tightening to new heights that are safer and more effective than ever before.

SkinTyteTM is a Broad Band Light device that delivers gentle pulses of heat deep into the skin, which causes some immediate tissue tightening and triggers new collagen production. As new collagen forms, it produces a tightening and firming effect that helps to strengthen the skin and make it more resilient. SkinTyteTM protects the outer layer of skin with sapphire contact cooling, which provides both safety and comfort. There is virtually no downtime, so you can resume regular activities immediately following treatment.

SkinTyteTM treatments are ideal for:

  • Firming forehead and cheeks
  • Lifting the eyebrows
  • Tightening jowls and neck
  • Reducing wrinkles around the eyes
  • Diminishing the appearance of cellulite
  • Tightening skin on the abdomen, buttocks, arms and thighs

At Summit Medical Group Dermatology, this procedure is performed with Sciton’s SkinTyteTM.  The SkinTyteTM treatment can be administered to the face, abdomen, neck or any area of the body to firm up and tone loose, sagging skin – all without anesthetics or needles.

In addition to correcting sagging skin, SkinTyteTM can be used as a stand-alone treatment to reduce the appearance of acne scars, tighten up skin after face or neck lift surgery, or after BOTOX to enhance results of the anti-wrinkle treatment.

Unlike some other laser treatments intended for use above the neck, SkinTyteTM can be used on any part of the body where the skin appears lax, including the face, neck, abdomen and arms. Since the procedure uses broad band light (BBL) energy to heat the deep skin tissues, it also promotes the skin cell renewal process while increasing contraction of collagen. This helps create long-lasting, ongoing results that can be enhanced with regular treatments. Treatments are repeated every three to four weeks, and most people need at least two to five sessions to see significant results.

Frequently Asked Questions about SkinTyteTM at Summit Medical Group

What is SkinTyteTM or SkinTightening?

This ground-breaking new technology is used to selectively heat the dermal collagen deep in your skin while at the same time cooling the outer layer of skin prior to, during, and after treatment. The result is partial coagulation and contraction of collagen which tightens the skin and promotes new collagen production.

What results should I expect?

SkinTyteTM procedure results may vary from patient to patient.  The SkinTyteTM procedure is recommended for patients who desire moderate, noticeable skin improvement without having to undergo surgery.  Full results often take up to four months as the collagen foundation of your skin is rebuilt and strengthened.

Where can Skin Tightening be used?

The most popular areas are the face, neck, arms and abdomen. However, it can be used anywhere on the body to reduce skin laxity and sagging.

Is SkinTyteTM safe for all skin types?

SkinTyteTM treatment is safe for all skin types and can be performed on any area of the body where an improvement in your skin firmness is desired.

How long does the treatment take?

A treatment normally takes approximately 45 minutes, although time varies depending upon the area being treated.

How soon will I see results?

Patients may see some improvement after the first treatment session, with continued improvement noticeable for up to 1 year after a series of treatments. Although results can be seen after just one treatment, normally two to five treatments are recommended in order to achieve optimal results.

Are there any potential side effects?

Most side effects are mild and of short duration. These can consist of short term, minimal discomfort during the actual treatment. Some patients may experience mild redness immediately following treatment, lasting less than 24 hours in most people.  On rare occasions it may last up to three days. Mild blistering and bruising is possible but in our experience occur in less than 1% of patients and usually clear very quickly.
